Introduction to MacOSX for First-Time Users
Whether you're switching to the Mac from Windows, or if you're new to computers entirely, this course will help you feel at home in the Mac environment. A basic tour of the Mac system begins with a "lay of the land" of the Dock, Apple menu and the Finder, and proceeds to step-by-step instructions on using System Preferences to personalize and customize your Mac. You'll learn how to customize the Dashboard, and how to search for files or content at the press of a key. Finally, we'll explore some functions that are native to the Mac that Windows users pay extra for... such as capturing pictures of your screen, printing to a PDF file, creating encrypted disk images and more. This course was prepared using MacOS 10.6 (Snow Leopard), but will apply to users of MacOS 10.4 (Tiger) and later.
